Debra March | The Executive Director

For eleven years, Debra March has served as the executive director of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies in UNLV's College of Business. Debra has turned the institute into a highly regarded educational program, supporting the Nevada real estate industry. She has expanded the executive and advisory boards, initiated the mentor program, internships and the Career Forum and much more.
At UNLV the Lied Institute supports coursework leading to a bachelors degree in real estate finance, while offering students scholarships, internships, an active student organization and career placement. Additionally, through its executive education program the institute offers the Commercial Real Estate Certification Program and the Certified Graduate Builders Series. Research is an important component, rounding out the opportunities available through the institute. The research, both academic and applied includes white papers on key real estate issues; clients include Fannie Mae, Nevada Real Estate Division, NAIOP, NDA, Clark County and others. Recent research projects include: Conservation and its Impact on Development; Reserve Fund Guidelines for Common Interest Communities; and The Nevada Law and Reference Guide.
In 1999, Ms March was named Associate Member of the Year by the Southern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP and Citizen of the Year by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.
March is a planning commissioner for the City of Henderson Planning Commission. She also serves on the executive committee of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Urban Land Institute and is an active member of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, the American Planning Association, and the American Real Estate Society.
Prior to joining the Lied Institute as director, Ms. March was responsible for the City of Las Vegas Economic Development Marketing program. In this role she oversaw planning, target marketing and recruitment of business and industries in support of the city's goals to diversify the southern Nevada economy.
From 1989 through 1992, Ms. March served as the deputy administrator for the Nevada Real Estate Division where she was a regulator for the real estate industry.
