Welcome to the Lied Institute

As the Executive Director of the UNLV Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies, I’d like to welcome you to our website and encourage you to familiarize yourself with the broad spectrum of programs and services available to the university, Nevada and real estate communities through the Lied Institute!

Located within the College of Business, the institute provides a variety of programs to our students including mentoring, internships, scholarships, career placement, our annual Career Explorations Forum along with a myriad of other services and resources.

In our effort to partner with the real estate community we provide the industry with premiere educational opportunities , including our Commercial Real Estate Certification program, the Online Mortgage Lending Program, the BOMI Certification in partnership with BOMA Nevada, the Certified Graduate Builders Series with the Homebuilders Institute and our First Time Home buyers Program.

Actively engaged in the public policy discussions, the Lied Institute hosts nationally recognized real estate roundtables addressing current and emerging issues related to real estate, land use and quality of life. Roundtable discussions have addressed Economic Diversification, the Future of Office and Industrial Development in Southern Nevada, Affordable Housing, the Social Impacts of Growth, Transportation, Conservation and Development and many others.

The institute, its staff and faculty actively participate in public policy debate through their involvement in organizations including American Planning Association Board membership, Urban Land Institute (ULI) local Executive Board, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) partnerships, Building Owners and Managers (BOMA) Education Partnerships, CCIM, American Real Estate Society (ARES) and many others.
